SEMA Urges Immediate Congressional Action on Advanced Clean Cars II
March 5, 2025We sincerely thank Rep. Neal Dunn (R-FL-02) for leading this charge, alongside Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA-02), Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH-08) and Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA-03), with support from 12 additional bipartisan members. Their continued support and commitment to this issue is vital to preserving competition and ensuring a level playing field for all parties.
Thanks to Congressman Dunn’s leadership, MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers successfully advocated for key improvements to the bill, strengthening its ability to protect the aftermarket industry. Specifically, MEMA advocated for additions to the legislation which will:
- Include diagnostic tool manufacturers to guarantee access to critical repair data.
- Protect aftermarket suppliers from practices that could have limited their ability to receive essential vehicle repair data.
Our proactive efforts reflect our unwavering commitment to advocating for policies that support the aftermarket industry. Through working with Congressman Dunn, MEMA is proud to support legislation that better serves the industry and consumers.
A special thank you to our MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Advocacy team—especially Carter Salwin and Jon Gentile—for their tireless efforts on the REPAIR Act. Their dedication has been instrumental in strengthening this legislation and advancing our advocacy work.
The stakes are high. Without this legislation, we will continue to see growing restrictions on critical repair information, driving up costs, limiting service options, and threatening the future of the independent aftermarket.
We are fully committed to getting this legislation passed. This is about protecting your business, your customers and your ability to compete.
President
