July 24, 2025Bladenboro, N C, Mr. Leonard Charles Wack, 91, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025. He was born in Ledgewood, NJ at home and went to Roxbury High School, then attended the Miami College in Oxford, Ohio for Engineering. He then joined the U S Navy during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier USS Tarawa (CVA 40) with world war service. He maintained active membership in the USS Tarawa Veteran’s Association, attending annual reunions nationwide.
He worked at Howmet research division from 1959 – 1966 in Rockaway Township. Then was the Executive V P at Metem Corporation in Parsippany. He later was the proprietor of the Wayside Store, a general store, in Ludlow, VT. From 1987 – 2005 he was the V P of Sales and Development at Sonnax Industries, in Bellows Falls, VT. He then accepted a position as Executive Director of TCRA (Torque Converter Rebuilders Association) in VT in 2005.
He was predeceased by his wife Anne (Reilly) Wack in 2012, and by his son Mark L Wack in 1981. He is survived by his son Stephen C Wack (and his wife Nicole) of Bladenboro, N C, 3 grandchildren; Rebecca Cifaldi, Michelle Brigham, and Alexis Jenkins.
A graveside Service with U S Navy Military Honors will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10 am, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wharton. Arrangements are by the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ. 973-584-7264
